About TNR(Trap-Neuter-Return) Services
Great Plains SPCA is dedicated to improving the lives of community cats through our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program. TNR is the most effective and humane approach to managing outdoor cat populations, preventing unwanted litters, and promoting healthier feline communities. We offer ongoing TNR services as well as regular TNR clinics to assist caretakers in safely trapping, sterilizing, vaccinating, and returning cats to their outdoor homes. If you have questions about our TNR services or need assistance, please email tnr@greatplainsspca.org.
About TNR(Trap-Neuter-Return) Clinics
We will announce when our next TNR Clinic is available. The space for these clinics is limited and services are provided on a first come, first served basis.
Preparation for each clinic:
All cats and kittens must be in live traps prior to arrival, regardless of if they are friendly with the caretaker. This is for safety, since they will be in a new environment and being handled by unfamiliar people. If cats or kittens arrive in anything besides a live trap they will be denied.** (Recommended trap size: 32×12.5×12)
TNR Clinic FAQ:
- Cats will stay overnight and be picked up the following morning.
- Drop off and pick up times will be given when reservation is made.
- Each cat will receive Spay/Neuter surgery, left ear-tip and tattoo.
- Each cat will also receive rabies vaccination, lasting one year (if over three months old) and topical flea prevention.
**We do have a limited number of live traps available for rent. Please email tnr@greatplainsspc.org for more info.
